Composition photos

Framing:

This photo is an example of framing. Framing is used to focal the main object and therefore the viewer is automatically attracted to the focal point of the photo. The vocal point in this image is the man behind the glass door although toni the female model is also been framed by the window and the door frame. Therefore there is a triplicate framing in this image.

This photo is another example of framing. This photo is not the best example of framing as it the view wouldn't be drawn to Toni first. To improve this i could have used a frame were the background is plain therefore giving more emphasis on Toni and the framing of her. All my photo were in focus as to capture this image i had to concentrate and ensure she was in fact been framed as the photos i took had multi frames as seen in the image above. For the framing images i did not use zoom as the location and the background played a huge role in creating the effect of the picture. I find my photos are good quality but I could have found better locations to emphasis what i was trying to capture.

Use of Lines :

We use the use of line to emphasize the object. We use line to direct the viewer to the main focal point of the photo.

This photo is not well composed as the subject is at the end of the line and the use of this line attracts the viewers attention to the park rather than the girl. It is also not face on and therefore there is very little emphasis on the photo.

This was the next photo I took it was an improvement as she is going in the same direction as the wall is pointing in although it still does not create the effect i was trying to create.

This is the best example of the use of lines as the camera is directly on the line which causes the viewer to turn their attention to the main focal point of this image which is the energy can. It also give the effect that the image is longer.
 Lines.....

Once again i did not use zoom for this photo as the backdrop played an important role in creating this effect

Use of Tilt:

We use tilt to empasise power. If we tilt up then the camera is below the person and this creates a powerfull effect suggesting the person in the image is of great importance. The use of tilt down in photos is when the camera is above the object and the obejct is below the camera. This creates the look of powerless or being inferior.

This image is an example of a tilt down

This is an example of tilt upwards so that the model look superior.
This is an example of zoom as i wanted to capture the detail of the leaves and the vain in the leaves in contrast to the pale sink and blue eyes of Toni.

This is am example of zoom with a blurred background for emphasis on the leave i was photographing.

this is an example of the model being in the left hand side of the photo with a blurred background which make the viewer draw their attention to the model but still able to see her surroundings.

Shutter Speed

Media Production: Shutter speed

Shutter speeds controls and measures for what legnth of time the lens allows light to pass through it in order to take a picture. The higher the shutter speed, the faster the shutter opens and closes. They also control the movement and sharpness of the photo.

Using a faster shutter speed allows you to control and freeze the image of a moving subject in order to capture the photo without having a giant blur. For example a moving car or motorbike would require a shutter speed of 1/4000.

We use a slower shutter speed when the light is very low and we have very little natural light. For example a person walking would need a shutter speed of 1/250

IOS is in charge of increasing the cameras sensitivity of light this is used when pictures are coming out black. If this happens we must change the IOS to around 800.

Examples of photos i took using shutter speed.

This photo was created in a dark room with next to no natural light we used a white wall to give emphasis to the photo. I used a very slow shutter speed of 6" seconds. I used a very slow shutter speed in order to create the name toni.

Example of  a slow shutter speed

The quality of the image is a touch blurry and could be more focused. If i were to do this photo again i would use a slower shutter speed and a darker room to enhance the light of the torch light. I think its important to review the image after you have taken it so if the quality is bad you can retake the photo as when we upload them to the computer its then to late to retake the photos. The use of a tripod could have helped this image as they are easier to stabilise.

Better examples of a slow shutter speed.

Example of a fast shutter speed.

For this photo i used 1/400 to capture the fast moving vehicles. I chose to take this photo as there was not just one moving object but 4 vehicles which were moving in different speeds which I could test to see wether the shutter speed i was using would work to capture all four moving vehicles. This photo is very sharp and captured the movement quite well I find.

Photoshopping Zoe

Photo shop of Zoe

Zoe before photoshop

Zoe after i have photo shopped her

Firstly i had to create a new layer so that the original photo wasn't altered therefore if i made any mistakes i could undo them and if it went terribly wrong i could restart and create a new layer. I pasted in the photo into photo shop to be edited. I then used the healing brush tool in the top left hand corner. I chose a peace of skin which colour i found would be appropriate for her whole face and began to cover the blemishes. I had to change the size of the brush according to the size of the blemish. I zoomed and unzoomed to make sure i was fully covering the blemish. I decided to take the photo shopping a bit further and change her eye colour to a greeny brown. I done this by using the magic lasso tool to cirle the eye then in the bottom right hand corner i click the half circle and chose colour saturation and chose the colour I wanted.
